We’ve spent the last five years building Revival Dermatology around one idea: that good skin care starts with a real relationship between you and your provider. As we’ve grown, we’ve been focused and deliberate about who joins our team, because that relationship is the whole point.
That’s why we’re excited to welcome a physician assistant, Gracie Erturkuner, PA-C, to our care team. We know “PA” might be a new term for some of our patients, so we wanted to take a minute and explain what that means, and why we think it’s a genuine win for the people who trust us with their skin.

What Is a Physician Assistant?
A physician assistant is a licensed, board-certified medical provider trained to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients. In dermatology, PAs complete specialized training under the direct guidance of a dermatologist before they ever see a patient on their own. That hands-on mentorship is what allows them to confidently manage conditions like acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea, and to spot the early signs of skin cancer during a routine skin check.
PAs aren’t a substitute for your dermatologist. They’re an extension of the same team, trained in the same standards, working alongside the doctors you already know.
What a PA Can Do for You
A lot more than you might think. PAs handle full patient histories and physical exams, and they’re skilled in many of the procedures dermatology patients need most, things like biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and suturing. In our cosmetic practice, PAs can also be trained in injectables, laser treatments, and chemical peels.
In other words, a PA visit isn’t a lesser visit. It’s a thorough one.
Why We Made This Decision
Here’s the honest reason: access. The demand for dermatology care in Dallas keeps growing, and wait times across the industry have grown right along with it. Adding a PA to our team means we can see more patients in a timely way, without asking our dermatologists to rush through appointments to make that happen.
It also means our doctors get to spend more of their time on the most complex cases, the ones that truly need a dermatologist’s years of specialized experience, while routine and ongoing care moves faster for everyone else. When a case needs a second set of eyes, our PAs and dermatologists consult directly. You’re never navigating that alone, and neither are they.
Same Team, Same Standard
We didn’t add this role to change who we are. We added it so we could keep showing up the way we always have, personal, attentive, and unhurried, for more patients than ever.
If you have questions about what to expect from a visit with our new physician assistant, we’re always happy to talk it through. Give us a call or ask us at your next appointment.
