Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for Skin Rejuvenation

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment is a revolutionary regenerative medicine treatment known for its ability to impart a more youthful appearance to the skin with minimal downtime. Derived from the patient’s own blood, PRP presents virtually no risks of allergies or sensitivity. It contains high concentrations of platelets that stimulate stem cells to accelerate the body’s regeneration and healing processes, possibly delivering the following results:

  • Improvements in overall skin texture
  • Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Natural improvement in the tear trough area-
  • Smoothing of acne or surgical scars

Treatment Overview

At Revival Dermatology, we use PRP in customized ways for each patient.

Blood extraction: A small volume of blood will be drawn from your arm.

Blood processed: Your blood sample will be placed in a centrifuge to separate it into layers, with one layer containing a high platelet concentration.Blood administered: We will use the platelet-rich blood during your visit by either applying it directly to your face during or after your microneedling or laser procedure or injecting it into your tear trough region or scalp with a syringe.

Expected Results

PRP rejuvenation naturally stimulates the body’s collagen production, with optimal regeneration occurring over approximately three months. Patients often notice improved skin texture within the first month following the treatment. For lasting results, a series of 3 treatments spaced at monthly intervals is recommended, with touch-up sessions at yearly intervals to further stimulate collagen production and sustained facial rejuvenation. For immediate improvement, combining PRP with Botox, fillers, microneedling, and laser skin resurfacing can enhance the benefits.

Little to No Downtime

PRP  Rejuvenation is among the lowest risk treatments, as it involves injecting a substance sourced from the patient’s own body. Mild injection site bruising, swelling, or redness may occur but typically resolve within 3-7 days post-treatment and can be safely concealed with makeup.

If you are interested in PRP treatments for skin rejuvenation or as an add-on treatment to a SkinPen microneedling procedure, please contact us for a consultation and we can put a personalized plan in place to reach the results you desire.
